Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 April 2026
By using NI Freelancers, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you don't agree, don't use the platform.
The service
NI Freelancers is an online directory where independent freelancers based in Northern Ireland can list their services, and businesses can discover and contact them. We charge freelancers a subscription fee to be listed. Browsing the directory is free.
Eligibility
To create a freelancer listing you must:
- Be an independent freelancer (not an agency, staffing firm, or employee)
- Be based in Northern Ireland
- Be at least 18 years old
- Provide accurate, non-misleading information about your services
Approval and listing standards
All profiles are reviewed before going live. We reserve the right to reject or remove any listing that we consider to be misleading, inappropriate, of poor quality, or otherwise in breach of these terms — at our discretion, without obligation to provide a reason.
If your profile is rejected before going live, you will not be charged. If your profile is removed after going live, your subscription will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund for the current billing period unless we determine the removal was made in error.
Subscriptions and payment
Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, depending on your plan).
You may cancel at any time from your billing dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — your listing remains live until then. We do not offer refunds for unused time unless required by law.
Your content
You are responsible for everything you post on your profile — your bio, portfolio images, skills, and any other content. By posting content, you confirm that:
- You own or have the right to use it
- It is accurate and not misleading
- It does not infringe anyone else's intellectual property
- It does not contain anything illegal, harmful, or offensive
You retain ownership of your content. By posting it, you grant us a licence to display it on the platform.
No employment or agency relationship
NI Freelancers is a directory, not a recruitment agency. We do not introduce, refer, or place freelancers. Any work arranged between a freelancer and a business is entirely independent of us. We are not party to those arrangements and accept no liability for them.
Limitation of liability
We provide the directory on an “as is” basis. We do not guarantee that listing your profile will result in work. We do not verify the credentials, qualifications, or claims made by freelancers beyond our profile review process.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of NI Freelancers is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Northern Ireland.
