Getting listed
Who can list on NI Freelancers?
Independent freelancers based in Northern Ireland. We review every profile before it goes live. We don't accept agencies, staffing firms, or freelancers based outside of Northern Ireland.
How long does approval take?
We review new profiles within 24 hours. You'll get an email either way — approved and live, or with feedback if something needs adjusting.
What happens if my profile is rejected?
You'll receive an email explaining why. Common reasons: the profile is incomplete, the work is agency-led rather than independent, or the freelancer isn't based in Northern Ireland. If rejected, you won't be charged.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your billing dashboard at any time. Your profile stays live until the end of your current billing period, then comes down automatically.
What's the difference between monthly and annual?
Monthly is £9/month, billed each month. Annual is £79/year — the equivalent of £6.58/month, saving you around £29 versus paying monthly. Both plans include everything.
Can I be listed in more than one category?
Each profile has one primary category. If your work spans multiple disciplines, choose the one that best represents the majority of your client work.
Can I update my profile after it's approved?
Yes, at any time. Changes to your profile don't require re-approval unless we flag something during a routine review.
Is there a featured placement?
Yes — featured listings appear at the top of search results and on the homepage. Get in touch if you're interested in a featured spot.
For businesses
Hiring freelancers
Is it free to browse?
Yes. There's no charge, no sign-up required, and no commission on any work you hire a freelancer for. We make our money from the listing fees that freelancers pay.
Are these freelancers vetted?
Every profile is reviewed before going live. We check that the person is a genuine independent freelancer based in Northern Ireland with real work to show. We don't verify every claim on every profile, but we do remove listings that don't meet the standard.
How do I contact a freelancer?
Directly — via the email or website link on their profile. There's no messaging system on the platform. We're deliberately not in the middle of your working relationship.
